*Yeah we all know Fisker is failing, pretty miserably actually, it’s unfortunate…But, why is it failing? Well, besides the fact that Tesla has pretty much outdone Fisker at every turn, it appears that the EV automaker was losing quite a bit of cash on every Karma vehicle sold. How much cash? Just about $35 grand per car. Now if you multiply that times the 2,450 Karma’s sold, well you’ve got yourself about…$85 million in loses (womp womp). Now it’s starting to make a bit more sense isn’t it. Beyond the financial faults, apparently Henrik Fisker wouldn’t budge when it came to the car’s design. So when the engineering team told him the looks would cost the car efficiency and performance, i guess he just merely shrugged that off. The total bill has topped $1.4B for Fisker. That’s one hell of an oops. In related news, in a board meeting one former employee was overheard saying “Is he serious, more like Risker”…

*Welcome to the “how to lose your job in record time” edition of Fast Lane Daily, featuring a rapper, well a wannabe rapper I guess, who works for a Boston Autoport company that imports foreign cars. This dude who goes by the YouTube name PKilla617, decided it would be a good idea to film himself and the cars that came into the port. Ok maybe you’re thinking that’s not a big deal, but they are expensive cars like the BMW M6, and he would proceed to rev the COLD engines to redline in several videos. Now, if you know anything about cars, or just have common sense, that’s not so good for them at all. Anyway, once his employers got wind of what he was doing, he was fired. Now, I’d tell him to “stick with your day job”, but, well, you know, he can’t…PKilla617 huh, I’d hate to be the letter P, apparently he kills them.

*BMW is going to restyle its 7 series for the 2014 model year, and its looks won’t be the only change for the flagship sedan. The 7 will go on a diet, dropping mad weight thanks to a new chassis made from steel, aluminum, and carbon fiber. The result will be a car that likely weighs less than the current 5-series, which tips the scales at 3,681 lbs (1,670kgs). We’ll see what sort of ch-ch-ch-changes BMW has in mins when the car debuts at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Yeah, I know it’s a ways away…

*We were all kind of bummed when Audi said it had no plans of adapting the Quattro Coupe concept from the 2010 Paris Motor Show to a production car. It was sharp, and the concept honored the 1980’s Quattro racing car. BUT now it looks like Audi has changed its mind, and they have a concept to debut at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show that will be a limited edition production car to go on sale next year. This year’s concept will be based on the A5 chassis (again) and should weigh around 2800 lbs, thanks to lightweight construction materials. The heart of the car will come from the RS7 in the form of the 4-liter twin-turbo V8 making about 650 Equus ferus caballus which is the technical name for a horse. Quattro AWD will be used in conjunction with a 7-speed DCT transmission. Who’s excited? Well, I am and JF is…

*This year’s Frankfurt Motor Show will also host Lamborghini’s long-awaited Gallardo successor, called the Cabrera. We’ll see a concept version of the successor in September. The new model will be lighter and longer, and will share a platform with the next-gen Audi R8, due in 2015. The 5.2 liter V10 should carry over, with some updates to increase output to 600 gallops. It may or may not include a 6 speed manual, but will definitely include Audi’s new 7 speed DCT…

*Friendsday Wednesday and we got FLD Fan Victor Kaczynski, from Republic of Moldova, and he loves Porsches. So much so that he used the word Porsche so many times to make a Porsche 911. *Audi will reveal a new king-R8 at the 24 Hours of LeMans, that new Porsche Macan is peeked, a Mercedes SL gets turned into a sexy ass shooting break concept, and Nissan will offer a Nismo GT-R next year. Plus, we’re going to head to Russia where some people are Doing It Wrong. What’s up everyone, I’m Derek D and you’re watching Fast Lane Daily!

*Nissan’s performance division, Nismo, has left its mark on two models, the Juke and 370z, with some good results I might add. Now, the Nismo touch will extend to an even more hardcore version of the Juke, titled the Nuke…Nah just kidding, it’ll be called the RS, which will improve on the Nismo Juke’s 215 hp 1.6 liter turbo 4, while adding a some more styling flare. Don’t get this confused with the GT-R powered Juke R, it’s not that, but it’s still pretty impressive. Also, a Nismo version of Godzilla has been approved as well, Godzilla being the Nissan GT-R of course, and this mean’s its current 545 hp twin-turbo V6 will be upgraded, along with its suspension and styling. We don’t have any exact output figures, but Nismo is promising a substantial bump in that department. In other news, King Kong is still angry he doesn’t have a car named after him.

*For all you shooting brake fans out there, or as some would say wagon or estate. Here’s another sexy example of how to do the sloping roof line right. StudioTorino has envisioned what a Mercedes SL would look like with the Shooting Brake touch, and the results are looking fly and fresh to death. What’s cool about this is the students who are behind the project accounted for engineering and cost-to-produce. That means this could realistically be built if Mercedes likes the idea of course. So what you guys think, you dig it? Do you dig the music in this video?

*Porsche’s compact crossover, the Macan, we haven’t talked about it for a while, but its been testing for quite some time now, and we’ve got a few nearly-undisguised pictures of it compliments of MotorAuthority. Putting all Porsche SUV haters aside, this thing looks good…It should go on sale in the Spring of 2014, and “I got a feeling, that this model will sell pretty well”….The starting price is $49 grand, yeah not cheap, but easily the cheapest Porsche model available, so it’ll sell. Though we only see a 5-door version pictured, a 3-door is also possible, similar to the Evoque’s setup. As far as engines, they’ll be a few different flavors of V6′s, with a potential Macan Turbo bringing 370 of those things that make this noise when running…There may also be a 3-liter turbodiesel making 300 horses and 480 lb feet of torque. I’d say it all sounds pretty good, and looks good too…

*Audi has a a few versions of their R8′s. Ya got the regular 4.2 liter V8, there’s the V10 model, a V10 Spyder, and the top-of-the line R8 GT. Now, it appears the German automaker has another, more potent version on deck, the R8 GT Plus. Set to debut at the 24 hours of LeMans this weekend, the GT Plus will boast a tuned 5.2 liter V10 making more than 552 horses and 398 lb ft of twist. In the RWD version, a 6-speed manual will come standard, nice, but the AWD version will get the 7-speed dual clutch. It will look at 60mph in the face and tell it to shut up in just 3.4 seconds, and top speed should be in the 200-mph ballpark…There will also be a Spyder version released next year. Always been a fan of the R8…

*Alright let’s head to Russia and watch multiple people in this slammed car “Doing It Wrong”. First I’m pretty sure they made an illegal right turn to avoid that first speed bump. Then they stop the car in the middle of the road, and 3 dudes get out to put down ramps so this thing can get over that weak ass excuse for a speed bump. I don’t care if you think this is cool or not, it’s just dumb. I mean if you’re daily driver is slammed that much you’re Doing It Wrong…and listen to the music in this video.
