Maybe the MPG curfew will force american automakers to concentrate on other aspects of a fun ride than just HP. Handling for one...

  • jakeman203 wrote on February 6, 2:37 pm

    russell lol....

The price on the Challenger sucks. 38,000? geez. Should be priced around say 30,000 max...Cause its a dodge...

Will the new hybrid camaro be one of those cars people will look back and say What were they thinking?

Yo FLD, where is DD's on-location report from the GIANTS parade yesterday? Was lookin forward to some funny stuff...couldve commented on the performance-handle characteristics of the parade floats or something! FLD rocks! Great job Next New Networks! I hate having to wait another 10-12 hours for my next FLD fix.

yo DD thats good luck paisan ! how about an all electric camaro ? yea

  • swinglow33 wrote on February 6, 3:50 pm100 Award

Sucks that the Challenger is coming out when the government is putting their noses in the car companies faces for higher mileage cars. It's going to be a dinosaur almost after it hits the streets.

I'm still not too impressed with the Camaro. But GM is no stranger to turbos. Hint-hint GM. You can still get 300-400hp from a turbo V6. And use less steel for goodness sake! It's still overweight.

I found this clip for all you ricers out there. This will eventually happen to you.

  • Nick Holla wrote on February 6, 4:17 pm

hmmmm, 450hp and 25mpg? I'll take my Camaro in black.

  • Nick Holla wrote on February 6, 4:22 pm

    @ swinglow

I think a twin turbo V6 Camaro would be the worse idea ever. It would have to cost less than $35000 and have to compete with something like a GTR and forget a warranty package. Not to mention that's not how Muscle Cars roll. Long live the small block V8.

  • swinglow33 wrote on February 6, 6:52 pm100 Award

I'm sure the V8 will never die. They will just keep putting in more tech into their cars, such as cylinder deactivation or couple it to an electric motor. Both of which is against hardcore muscle car fans. US automakers are killing themselves by putting in monsterous engines and only getting 500-620hp, and still be slower than the Europeans. Now the new ZR1 is a great car, but with that much power, it should go to 60 in just over 3 seconds, + or - a few tenths.

But I'll stick with my twin turbo flat 6, thankyou. And still pull away from most muscle cars.

Please get rid of the Valentine special promo...it's creeping me out. (Is this what D-man had to agree to do in order to go to Detroit?)

  • supramike wrote on February 6, 6:55 pm100 Award

Camaro hybrid now i've hear it all, what the fuck??? well i guess its all good just as long as thats not the only option. and as for the SRT8 Challenger well till they make the thing stick i dont want one. i guess if it came down to it i'd pull out the six speed trany from the base model and swap it for the the auto box from the Srt8.

I really like the new challenger but definitely think it should be a little cheaper, but its nice and retro and i like that...Derek D. you are a funny dude, Patriots eating crow, i love it!

  • Mercator wrote on February 7, 2:27 pm

Challenger - too bad its a Chrysler and too damned heavy and expensive to be viable. They'll sell, but not well.

    VW van - yawn

Crow joke, funny for a couple seconds. Bandwagon giants fans... yawn.

hybrid camaro - cool if it helps performance and mpg

bird s***ing on DD - priceless.

  • Max (anon) wrote on March 5, 1:18 pm

Maybe the MPG rule will make the cars more innovative. Cornering and handling are much more fun than hp.

    Better on gas too!!!

  • Max (anon) wrote on March 5, 1:20 pm

GM please make more mid-engined cars!!!!!!

Maybe just put the engine in the back of the Solstice. The trunk is useless anyways..
